Album Covers
VeeKay is my independent music project. I was doing music since I was 16 years old and started as a Hard-core, metal musician. After moving to the US I stopped creating music for a while, but I always were dreaming about it. Some time ago I started my independent project. I changed my style and started to sing more Emo, Alternative, and Pop-punk style songs.
Concept
The main target is to show listeners intentions of the song without even playing it. On all the platforms before you are playing track you will see the cover first and people tend to judge a song by it’s cover. Having a strong album cover is crucial. It is a small detail that builds personality of the artist. Quality of it also can show how hard artist works to make listeners enjoy every asplect of the song before, during, and after.
Theme
The whole idea spins around the artist’s personality and the personality of the track. Each day brings different emotions, lyrics, and feelings. Every album cover has it’s own theme and because of that execution varies depending on those factors.
Material
Most of the covers are made using photos of the artist and manipulating them with the photoshop. First step is always light correction so the initial file has a good contrast and clear transitioning from light to dark hues. Only after that I start the process of artistic manipulation to add or change colors, text, parental advisory logo, and effects such as blur, gradient, noise, etc.
