Constructivism: Brochures and Poster

Time by time museums are holding exhibitions that local people are not familiar with. To make people interested in attending the exhibitions they need to know whom and what they will see there and what they can receive after attending the exhibition.

Purpose

Knowledge and inspiration that exhibitions give, especially ones that you have never seen before, will put a mark on people’s world views and show new ways to perceive it.

Concept

By creating informative brochures people get familiar with the artists that they gonna see. With artist’s history will make them curious about what this period and place held inside people. Showing them some of their work beforehand will give them an idea of what to expect. The poster tells the overall mood and movement of the event.

Theme

In Constructivism, the role of the artist was re-imagined – the artist became an engineer wielding tools, instead of a painter holding a brush. For the Constructivists, artworks were part of a greater visual program meant to awaken the masses and lead them toward awareness of class divisions, social inequalities, and revolution. The Constructivists believed that art had no place in the hermetic space of the artist’s studio. Rather, they thought that art should reflect the industrial world and that it should be used as a tool in the Communist revolution.

The past is only the future with the lights on…
