Nordic Runes: Neenah Paper Promo

Neenah Mill holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating mill within Neenah, Inc., their parent company. With two paper machines, the Neenah Mill represents over a century of paper-making heritage – a heritage that combines time-honored craftsmanship with advanced technology. The main goal was to show people what you can create with high-quality paper.

Concept

As a project assignment I needed to design at least 7 cards and the case for them using the paper of the brand I chose. I decided to create something memorable so you don’t have just cards, but also an additional feature to that. The box, cards, and stones show the whole picture of the project combined with an idea.

Theme

Viking Runes (Norse Runes) were created in the Roman era to write the earliest forms of the Germanic language. They were eventually used by the Norse, Anglo-Saxons, and Germans. For over a thousand years, the runes evolved into writing styles that fit the needs of contemporary Germanic culture. This set has all the runes with cards that have a description of each of them.

Material

The box with the foiled cut cross on it represents the ancient Norse cross. The box is wrapped with black thick Neenah paper. Inside the box are cards that were printed through the laser and inkjet printed, foiled with golden foil, and on the runes space on the cards glued, foiled, die-cut symbols. Golden foam that protects stones and a small pouch.
